Jarrod Bowen has explained why he was “bored” on the day of his wedding to Dani Dyer, before tears flowed for the West Ham captain.

England international Bowen and former Love Island contestant Dyer tied the knot at a lavish ceremony in front of family and friends on May 31. Their respective calendars were finally cleared at the end of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

Dyer’s father Danny, who is a passionate Hammers fan, has poked fun at the nerves Bowen experienced when tying the knot with his reality TV star partner. The 28-year-old admits that he experienced a rollercoaster of highs and lows.

WHAT BOWEN SAID

Bowen was initially left wondering what all of the fuss was about, telling the of having to fill time before the main event got underway: “She turned up – that's always the main thing. We got there the night before and I felt like I was waiting for something.

“Even on the morning of it, me and my mates, the best man and the ushers were wondering what we were going to do. We were a bit bored to be honest. Dani was getting ready and we couldn't see each other; my family were there.”

Bowen went on to say, with emotion eventually spilling out of the 28-year-old forward: “There was a little spa bit, so we had a little bit of a pamper morning. All of a sudden then bang, people were here. It finally got to me a little bit because people were coming up to me, seeing my mum and dad were all dressed up for me, my brothers, the kids as well.

“And then it was hitting me on the aisle. You think you're fine, but until you're in that moment. I think someone turned the hay-fever up! It was a top, top day.”
