Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis shared images of Osimhen signing the contract with a succinct caption: 'Done!' on his social media to announce the extension. According to reports Osimhen is expected to see a substantial increase in his wages which could see his salary potentially reach €10 million per season after tax along with a release clause of around €130m (£113m/$144m).

However, despite the extension, Osimhen might not stay in Naples beyond the summer of 2024. According to the striker remains keen on an exit which should allow his potential suitors, including Chelsea, to continue negotiating with his entourage and if possible settle for a pre-agreement in January.
